Moore Selected SIAC Volleyball Newcomer of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – Consistently adding production off the bench as the season has progressed, Fort Valley State's Qui'Andra Moore was selected as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Newcomer of the Week.

The freshman defensive specialist produced five service aces and six digs to go with two assists and a kill in a 1-1 Wildcats week. In a 3-0 road win at Paine College, Moore served a pair of aces and dug four attacks, while she added a kill, two set assists and a solo block. On Saturday afternoon, the Lawrenceville, Ga., native chipped in three aces and two digs in a defeat at the hands of Benedict College.

Over 50 sets played in 17 matches, Moore averages 1.06 digs per set with 53 total digs. She also has eight service aces, four kills, four assists and one solo block during her first year.

Moore and the FVSU team completes the regular season this week with a Tuesday night, Nov. 5, match at Clark Atlanta starting at 6 p.m., before traveling to Brewton-Parker College on Wednesday night, Nov. 6.
