Wildcats Play Tough, Sweep Panthers to Stay Alive in SIAC Playoff Race

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats hope their conference finish of a pair of wins in the final three matches are enough. Fort Valley State played tough in the late stages of the volleyball of the first and third matches to key a 3-0 final at Clark Atlanta on Tuesday evening.
 
After Clark Atlanta (4-14/3-11 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East) ran off three points to take a 25-24 lead in the opening set, FVSU (5-14/4-13 SIAC East) finished with the final three points and 27-25 capped by an India King kill. The Wildcats turned an early second set deficit, 5-3, before Qui'Andra Moore served six points in a row and the visitors never lost the lead 25-19. Completing the match in a third set filled with five late ties, FVSU reversed a late CAU set point for another 27-25 win off another King kill of her 14 on the night.
 
With the win, FVSU posted its fourth SIAC East win and finished league play at 4-13. CAU sits at 3-11, but it still has three more matches to play.
