Golden Rams Get Past Wildcats Women’s Hoops

ALBANY, Ga. – It was a night the Wildcats were unable to get their footing. Albany State busted out the door with a big first quarter and added to it each period to get past Fort Valley State women's basketball, 68-45.

The Golden Rams (9-17/8-7 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) hit their first three 3-point attempts and raced out to a 12-2 lead in the opening 2:47 of play. The Wildcats (5-19/5-11 SIAC) scored the opening seven second-quarter points to pull within nine, 25-16, but the home team would win the quarter and the second half afterwards.

Nola Carter finished as FVSU's lone double-figure scorer with 10 points and grabbed four rebounds.
Jah'ne Brown drained three treys for nine points, while Torri Myers chipped in eight points and had four rebounds, both off the bench. Nyah Dismukes added six points and five assists.

Albany State saw Alexandria James lead all players with 14 points. The Golden Rams won the rebound battle, 49-31, and held the Wildcats to 26-percent (15 of 57) from the field.
