FORT VALLEY, Ga. – It's never too early to look ahead to the winter hardwood, especially with a marquee opponent on the docket. Fort Valley State opens its 2019-20 men's basketball schedule in the famed Cameron Indoor Stadium against Coach Krzyzewski's Duke University Blue Devils in a late October Exhibition game.

Heading into his second year with an ever-improving team, head coach Mark Sherrill inked the early-season exhibition game on Tobacco Road with Duke. The North Carolina native coach and the Wildcats head to Cameron Indoor on Wednesday night, Oct. 30, at a tip time to be announced.

FVSU opens its first regular season games on the first weekend of November (8-9) in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/Gulf South Conference Challenge against West Florida and host Valdosta State. Along with the opening weekend, FVSU also has a second Division I exhibition game against Florida A&M (Dec. 7) to go with non-SIAC opponents - Georgia Southwestern, Winston-Salem State, Shaw, Shorter, and Embry-Riddle – on the schedule.

The Wildcats have a 12-game home schedule with the home opener against Georgia Southwestern on Nov. 12 in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
