FVSU (3-15/1-8 SIAC East) will try to recapture its road success against its biggest rival, ASU (11-8/8-2 SIAC East). The Wildcats took away a 69-52 win two seasons ago (Jan. 20, 2018), before they came up a bit short last year in the Rams HPER Arena, 72-61. FVSU did win the contest in Fort Valley last Jan. 12, 61-57.

The Wildcats aim to snap a 9-game skid, which the last five losses have come by a combined 23 points (4.6 ppg). FVSU led by as many as 11 points in the second half Wednesday night, but a Spring Hill College 3-pointer with 1:21 broke a tie for the 82-78 eventual win.

After dropping its opening 2020 game on Jan. 4, Albany State has posted four consecutive road wins, including an 80-63 win last Saturday at Paine College and an 87-80 overtime victory Monday night at Benedict College.
