FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats could not get the home bounce at the charity stripe in the late game. Paine College netted 13 of the game's final 16 points with eight coming at the foul line in the final 1:24 and slipped past Fort Valley State men's basketball, 74-69.

After Zachary Boggs' second triple of the night pushed FVSU (5-18/3-11 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East) by five points with 3:55 left to go, it would be the final field goal for all but the final eight seconds. Paine College (3-18/3-13 SIAC East) netted back-to-back buckets to tie the game, 66-66, with 2:28 and converted all eight free throws in the final 1:24 to take away the road win.

Off the bench, Gregory Holloway contributed 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting and six rebounds to pace the Wildcats. K'Viontae Williams added 14 points with a pair of 3-pointers, while Shawn Foxbrennen had 10 points. Brenton Cliette Jordan pulled down 10 rebounds to go with seven points.

The Wildcats struggled at the foul line on the night with only 14 makes in 27 attempts. FVSU missed the first of a one-and-one opportunity (3:01) with a two-point lead (66-64) and another pair of attempts trailing by two, 68-66, with 1:09 showing in the game.

Keon Williams led all scorers with 17 points for Paine.

FVSU stays at home for its Saturday night, Feb. 15, Homecoming game against Albany State in an 8 p.m. contest.
