The Wildcats (12-11/8-6 SIAC East) aims for their third 3-game win streak and ninth overall home victory of the season this weekend. FVSU won its last two contests, both in Fort Valley, with an upset of No. 11 Benedict College (63-60) on Feb. 8 and a season sweep of Paine College (64-58) two days later on Feb. 10.

Albany State (4-17/3-11 SIAC East) comes into the matchup on a three-game skid. The Golden Rams fell short in both ends of the back-to-back series with Savannah State -- 70-52 in Albany (Feb. 1) and 85-53 in Savannah (Feb. 10).

In the first meeting three weeks ago, FVSU ran out to a double-digit second-quarter lead and handled ASU, 75-67, on Jan. 25 in Albany. Leading 31-28 midway through the second frame, the Wildcats rattled off 11-straight points over a three-minute period for a 42-28 lead with Jah'ne Brown netting five tallies. The FVSU advantage ballooned to 25 points, 63-36, on a Taziha Fannig layup from a Nola Carter dish at 4:15. The Golden Rams made a late fourth-quarter charge, but they could get no closer than the eight-point final margin.

The Wildcats look to equal a rare feat between the two teams of winning both regular season meetings in the year. ASU accomplished the task five years ago in the 2014-15 campaign, but FVSU has not equaled it in over a dozen seasons.
