The Wildcats (5-18/3-11 SIAC East) recorded their best all-around effort three weeks ago against the Golden Rams (13-10/10-4 SIAC East) by a 72-64 final score. FVSU added a second road win after that night, but it has fallen short in the last three contests, including a 74-69 decision Monday night to Paine College.

Albany State has went 2-1 since the first meeting on its home floor, including a 69-59 road loss at Savannah State on Monday evening.

Three weeks ago with the game tied at 50-50 with 7:13 left, a D'Angelo Strickland fast break layup following a Malik Clark steal gave FVSU the lead for good. The Golden Rams came back to within a point, 53-52, at 5:49, but it was the visitors' night. Clark drained a trey, Jacobi Coleman hit a 15-foot jumper and Ebon Jay laid in a put back for a 60-52 advantage with 4:06.

The Wildcats look for their first season sweep since taking both 2016-17 meetings (74-70 on Feb. 4, 2017 in Fort Valley and 87-65 on Feb. 18, 2017 in Albany). FVSU claimed a 61-57 win in last year's contest in Fort Valley (Jan. 12, 2019) and ASU won the previous season (Feb. 10, 2018) in a 76-68 final.
