Foxbrennen Selected Men’s Basketball All-SIAC Second Team Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. –
Going into the year with many goals, the Wildcats senior grabbed one of them with the league's announcement. Fort Valley State's Shawn Foxbrennen was selected to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Second Team as one of the 10 best players in the 14-team league.
 
Foxbrennen improved on all his statistical production and led to the Conference' coaches and sports information directors voting for his selection.

The SIAC West Division's top team Miles College received the Player of the Year in Avery Brown and the Coach of the Year in Fred Watson. Clark Atlanta forward Romaine Thomas garnered the Defensive Player of the Year award, while Darweshi Hunter from Central State was picked as both the Newcomer of the Year and Freshman of the Year.
 
Foxbrennen led the Wildcats with a 15.2-point and 7.4-rebound averages. He also was the top free throw shooter at 82.7% (67 of 81) and downed 40 triples in 107 attempts (.374) and made .476 of his field goals (152 of 319).
 
Over 26 games, the Miami, Fla., native recorded five double-doubles, including 20 points and 11 rebounds in a road upset at Albany State. The senior scored double figures in 23 of 27 games, including 24 points in the double overtime victory over Clark Atlanta. Along with the five double-digit rebound efforts, Foxbrennen added seven more eight-plus rebound nights.
 
In two seasons, Foxbrennen has scored 778 points, 76 3-pointers and 391 rebounds.
 
The Wildcats leader will lead his team on Tuesday morning, March 3, in a 10 a.m. contest against Central State in the SIAC Tournament First Round in Rock Hill's Sports & Events Center.
