FVSU Men’s Basketball Predicted 6th in Preseason SIAC East Poll

10/27/2021 2:27:00 PM

SIAC Release
ATLANTA, Ga. –
After not taking the court last season, the new-look Wildcats are ready to make their mark this hoops season. The Fort Valley State men's basketball team is predicted sixth in the 2021-22 Preseason Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East poll.

With only one player remaining on the roster from the program's last game of the 2019-20 campaign, the Wildcats will spot a fresh and talented roster for this season. Warner Robins native Jacobi Coleman returns from two years ago on a squad, which went 7-22, but saw 14 of those defeats by six points or less.

FVSU was rated sixth in the Preseason SIAC East poll voted on by the league's coaches and athletics communications directors. Albany State received the top placing and it was followed by Benedict College, Clark Atlanta, Morehouse College and Savannah State.

Following 610 days since falling in the First Round of the 2020 SIAC Championship Tournament to Central State on March 3, 2020, FVSU will take the court for the first time in an exhibition contest at Mercer University on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Tip-off will be 7 p.m.
