Head coach Maurice Flowers and his Wildcats staff make their coaching debut at Shorter. Flowers' team has been hard at work since the beginning of the 2021-21 academic year and will be ready to finally have an opponent to face in this unusual and trying year without a regular fall season.

Coach Flowers sat down on Monday and talked about his Wildcats practice progress and this weekend's contest at Shorter.

* FVSU's last contest came in the 2019 Fountain City Classic against rival Albany State (Nov. 9, 2019).

* FVSU hosted Shorter in the 2019 season on Sept. 21 where it won 30-23 at Wildcat Stadium. Trailing 7-3 after one quarter, the Wildcats outscored the Hawks, 20-6, in the second period to take the lead they would not give up.

* FVSU is slated for one more spring game two weeks from Saturday. The Wildcats travel to Due West, S.C., and play first-year program Erskine College Fleet on April 10.
