Full 2021 BCSN All-American Teams
ATLANTA, Ga. –
In a short but meaningful shortened 2021 season, the Wildcats backcourt leader provided the team's offensive punch. Fort Valley State women's basketball team's Diamond Jones garnered Black College Sports Network NCAA Women's Division II All-American First Team acclaim announced late Thursday night.

Jones joins fellow Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players Ay'Anna Bey of Benedict and the duo of India Blakely and Ashiala Jackson from Tuskegee and Destiny Fields of West Virginia State on the five-player All-American First Team.

The 5-3 transfer point guard led FVSU in seven offensive categories as she helped the program finished with a winning record at 6-5 for the first time in eight seasons.

The junior from Clarksville, Tenn., averaged a team-leading 15.5 points, 2.8 steals and 2.5 assists, while she pulled down 2.3 rebounds per night. Leading in points scored at 170, Jones drained 24 triples at a team-best .333 clip for 3-point field goals and 38 free throws made, while second in both field goals made (54) and an overall field goal percentage of .378.

For her game bests, Jones scored 20 points at Allen University, while she had 19 tallies three other times, including one time against Benedict College and 18 points at Miles College. The guard swiped three-plus steals four times with two games of six steals. Jones also handed out seven assists twice and downed five 3-pointers against Allen.
