ATLANTA, Ga. – With the second 'W' placed in the win column, the Wildcats pair of outstanding performances gained league notice. Fort Valley State's Tyler Moore and Emmanuel Wilson grabbed the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football Special Teams and Newcomer of the Week honors.

Moore and Wilson were key cogs in the FVSU victory at Allen University, 56-20, on Saturday evening. The Wildcats win evened their mark to 2-2 on the season as they head into the upcoming final six SIAC East counting games of the season.

With the game standing at a one-score FVSU lead of 26-20, FVSU forced a punt on Allen's second possession from its own 13-yardline. Moore rushed in from the right end of the line to block the Yellow Jackets punt at the home 3-yardline and teammate Keon Bogan scooped it up in the endzone to turn the game's momentum. After the blocked punt touchdown, Wilson ran in the two-point conversion for a then 34-20 score with 6:44 in the third quarter. After gaining the new found momentum, the Wildcats defense sacked and forced a fumble on the next Yellow Jackets play.

Following the second Allen turnover and FVSU 29-yard pass play on the first play, Wilson ran in for his second score of the night from a yard away, 41-20, to seal the win.

Along with the key blocked punt, Moore led the FVSU defense with 11 tackles and two pass breakups. He also returned a punt for 13 yards for his SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week status.

In his first action of the season, Wilson ran for 83 yards on 11 carries. The running back scored two touchdowns with the first coming from 32 yards with 8:40 left in the second quarter to give FVSU the lead for good at 13-6. He also pulled in one pass for 12 yards to complete his SIAC Newcomer of the Week performance.

Moore, Wilson and the Wildcats make another trip to Columbia, S.C., this weekend. FVSU plays at Benedict College in a Saturday, Oct. 2nd, contest set for a 2 p.m. kick-off.
