FVSU’s Mosley Receives SIAC Football Newcomer of the Week Award

ATLANTA, Ga. – For the fifth time this fall, one of the Wildcats newest players grabbed an honor. Fort Valley State's Dialo Mosley received the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football Newcomer of the Week award.

Sealing a winning season, FVSU posted its sixth win of the year last Saturday in a 56-28 home finale victory over Morehouse College.

In the game, Mosley, a freshman linebacker from Atlanta's Carver High, recorded his second double-digit tackle performance and twice in three weeks with 11 tackles against the Maroon Tigers. After FVSU scored its first touchdown of the third quarter to lead 28-14, Mosley recovered a fumble caused by teammate Kentrell Lawson. The Wildcats offense turned it into seven points, six plays later to extend the margin to 35-14. Mosley helped the FVSU defense hold Morehouse scoreless in the first 27 minutes of the second half in the deciding part of the game.

In the team's seven games, the linebacker rates second on the team with 41 total tackles and has 2.5 tackles for loss to his credit.

FVSU heads to Mosley's home area of Atlanta this Saturday afternoon, Oct. 22, in a 4 p.m. game at Clark Atlanta.
