Wildcats Start the Countdown, Release 2022 Football Schedule

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – Let the countdown commence! The number starts at 199 days for new Fort Valley State head football coach Shawn Gibbs and his Wildcats to take the field for the 2022 season.

On the job less than a week, Gibbs will know the upcoming task and full schedule ahead of them as of today! FVSU's 2022 docket begins with a pair of neutral site Classic contests, three home games at Wildcat Stadium and ending on the 32^nd Annual Fountain City Classic against rival Albany State.

Just as it started last fall, FVSU clashes with Tuskegee University in the 2^nd Annual Red Tails Classic in Montgomery, Ala., on the night of Sunday, Sept. 4. The Wildcats first trip into Tennessee in recent seasons is the Week 2 contest (Sept. 11) against Kentucky State in the Chattanooga Scenic City HBCU Football Classic.

FVSU sees only a trio of Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East foes on its three home-game slate – Allen University (Sept. 17), Benedict College (Oct. 1) and Morehouse College (Oct. 15) for Homecoming.

Oct. 29 – at Savannah State University
Nov. 5 – vs. Albany State University – 32^nd Annual Fountain City Classic (Columbus, Ga.)
