Wildcats Double up Panthers in 4th Quarter, Number 22 Putback Seals Twosday Road Win

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats proved Twosday to be the case! Number 22 Torri Myers grabbed the offensive rebound and dropped in the putback with 34 seconds to put Fort Valley State in the lead as it doubled up host Clark Atlanta in the final period for the 73-69 women's basketball final.

Tied at 69, Myers track down the FVSU (8-13/6-10 SIAC East) missed shot and laid it up-and-in for a 71-69 lead. Ja'Meshia Williams stole the ball from the Lady Panthers (6-17/5-8 SIAC East) on the next possession, before Ja'Nya Ferguson made the first of two foul shots with 13 seconds for a 72-69 tally. Clark Atlanta's Reagan Jackson misfired on a potential game-tying 3-pointer and Kyndall Thomas made the final FVSU point with a second left to seal the four-point win.

On the second month, 22nd day of 2022, Myers hit 9 of 18 shots for a Wildcat-best 19 points to go with seven rebounds, four blocked shots and two assists.
