Game Recap: Men's Volleyball | | Chris Myers

Wildcats Battle Tough Against No. 1 Bruins

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – Any time playing the top team in the nation and holder of 19 national titles is tough and even a bigger challenge for a first-year program. Fort Valley State battled tough, but No. 1 UCLA men's volleyball was too much Saturday evening in a 3-0 final.

The Wildcats (4-11) made strides in each set as they increased their point production from 8-25 to 10-25 to 11-25 against the Bruins.

The two teams took part in a Serve/Pass clinic for the Peach County Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization early in the day.

Oshane Farquharson led FVSU with three kills, while both Jordan Brown and Rekey Singleton added two kills apiece. Justin Yates handed out eight assists. Saferino Dour recorded three total blocks, while Rashaun Wright had a kill. Schadrac Metayer dug four attacks.

Alex Knight was tops of all offensive players with seven kills for UCLA.

FVSU returns to the court next Friday night, April 1, in a 6 p.m. match at Morehouse College.
