Game Recap: Softball | | Matthew Bush

Wildcats Lose Series After Hot Start

Fort Valley, Ga- The Wildcats got off to a hot start in game one with 12 hits and 6 runs. That story changed in the next two games of the three games series. The Rams pitching performance seemed too much for the Wildcats as they would not score another run the rest of the weekend. Despite the disappointing outcome, Morghan Holland led the way with 5 hits in the series, followed by Rasheedah Hasan's 4 hits. The two also tallied a double each. Kaitlin Gardner would lead the team in the RBI column for the weekend with 2. Caprice Johnson and Re'Nesha Goolsby would also contribute with 8 total strikeouts from the circle. The Wildcats are not out of the play-off race as they have one more conference opportunity against Clark Atlanta University on April 22-23, 2022, for a three-game series. Before that contest, they will have the opportunity to fine-tune against Wesleyan College on April 19th, 2022, for a double-header.

Kaitlin Garner also had 3 hits to compliment her RBIs. Riley Jenkins and Laila Lavette also tallied two hits, with one from Barber, Bracey, Rose, and Buie.

Rose, Hasan, Holland, and Bracey also made their mark in the RBI column this weekend.
