Wildcats Rise up the HBCU D2 Coaches Poll

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats are rising up the ranks! After claiming its second win in as many weeks, Fort Valley State football made the biggest jump of the week in the HBCU D2 Coaches Poll sponsored by BOXTOROW Sports from No. 10 to No. 6 released Tuesday afternoon.
 
Following their 9-7 home victory last Saturday over Kentucky State, FVSU received 99 points to move up four spots to No. 6, third highest of any Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference members and the biggest upward move of any team from last week.
 
FVSU host Allen University as one of the SIAC Games on the Week on ESPN+ from Wildcat Stadium Saturday afternoon, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m.

HBCU D2 Coaches Poll: VUU knocks of Valdosta State, new No. 1; Bowie State falls

Virginia Union knocked off perineal Division II power Valdosta State on the road and was voted No. 1 in The HBCU Division II Coaches Poll powered by BOXTOROW. The Panthers received 13 first place votes. No. 2 Albany State received three first place votes.

Bowie State, who was No. 1 last week, fell to Saginaw Valley State and dropped to No. 3 in the poll. The Bulldogs still received three first place votes.
The No. 4 Benedict Tigers remained undefeated with a victory over Lane, while No. 6 Fort Valley State defeated Kentucky State to also move to 2-0 on the season. The Wildcats made the biggest jump, moving up four spots from No. 10 last week. The Fayetteville State Broncos round out the top five.
