FVSU Football Moves up Two More Spots to No. 4 in HBCU DII Coaches Poll

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats recorded another win and see their ranking shrink in number again! After moving to 3-0 for the first time in 18 seasons, Fort Valley State football moved up two more sports in the HBCU D2 Coaches Poll sponsored by BOXTOROW Sports from No. 6 to No. 4 released Tuesday.

Following their 29-27 home victory last Saturday over Allen University, FVSU received 125 points up from 99 a week ago to move up the two spots to No. 4, still third highest of any Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference members.
 
FVSU travels north to face Bluefield (W.Va.) State, which received 18 points in the poll, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m.

HBCU D2 Coaches Poll: VUU, Albany State remain top two teams

Virginia Union defeated Livingstone to stay unbeaten and remains No. 1 in The HBCU Division II Coaches Poll powered by BOXTOROW. The Panthers received 19 first place votes. No. 2 Albany State received three first place votes.

Bowie State, who was No. 1 last week, fell to Saginaw Valley State and dropped to No. 3 in the poll. The Bulldogs still received two first place votes.

No. 3 Benedict and No. 4 Fort Valley State both won, also remain undefeated, and moved up one spot and two spots, respectively from last week. Fayetteville State rounds out the top five.

The Bowie State Bulldogs fell to Shaw and dropped four spots to No. 8, while Shaw reentered the poll this week at No. 9.
