The Wildcat Nation will get a weekend-long view of the second version of the men's spikers squad. FVSU welcomes two Conference Carolinas foes into HPE Arena with a Friday evening (6 p.m.) bout with King University and then a 5 p.m. Saturday game against the University of Mt. Olive. The Wildcats wrap up the weekend with a 4 p.m. Sunday match against one of the NAIA's best programs in the Tigers of Campbellsville (Ky.) University.

FVSU (0-2) came up short in its first two road matches of the season. In each contest, the Wildcats did not go away easy as they took the third set in each match and held leads in each of the fourth sets. FVSU saw its advantage fall away late at Erskine in a 25-22 set four, before it took Emmanuel College on Tuesday night to extra points with 13 ties in the set in a 28-26 fourth set.

Over the opening eight sets of play, newcomer Isaiah Fedd has led FVSU in his all-around game. The freshman had 34 kills (4.25/set), .333 hit percentage, five aces, 15 digs and six block assists.

Joining Fedd, Jaxon Hicks and Tavaiian Martin are second (14) and third (13) in kills for the first two matches. Martin also has a .313 hit percentage and 10 blocks. Justin Yates handed out 77 assists (9.63/set) running the offense.

It is a rematch from FVSU's first ever match played in Bristol, Tenn., last January 15. The Tornado took the match by a 3-0 final.

King brings a 2-7 mark in the early season after it won a 3-2 road match on Tuesday night.

The Tornado finished 17-12 last season and made it to the Conference Carolinas semifinals.
