Lady Panthers Use Third Frame to Push Past Wildcats

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – With only three days since they last played, the Wildcats were right there on Saturday afternoon. Clark Atlanta broke open the game in the third quarter and prevailed over Fort Valley State women's basketball, 58-44.
 
FVSU (4-13/4-10 SIAC East) scored the game's first bucket by Amiya Allen and then it saw Starr Brown make a fastbreak layup with 1:03 in the first period for a 13-12 edge. It turned out to be the visitor's last advantage as the Lady Panthers (11-8/10-4 SIAC East) scored the first seven second-quarter points and came out of the half with a 23-10 third quarter on its way to the win.
 
Torri Myers led the Wildcats with 14 points on 6 of 13 from the floor to go with six rebounds, a block and two steals. Allen added eight points and five boards, while Diamond Jones had seven points.
 
Hannah White paced Clark Atlanta with 12 points.
 
FVSU is now off until next Saturday, Feb. 4, when it plays at Benedict College at 1 p.m.
