Walker Selected as Wildcat Nation Male Athlete of the Week

FORT VALLEY, Ga. -- After picking off a key third-quarter interception and leading the team in tackles, football's Jadyn Walker is the Wildcat Nation Male Athlete of the Week for October 23-29.

Walker led the FVSU defense last Saturday in the 37-26 win over Virginia University of Lynchburg where he recorded 7 total tackles. But it was his third-quarter interception he returned 11 yards to the visitors' 11-yardline to set up a Wildcat touchdown two plays later to give FVSU a two-score lead, 30-16, it would not let under the 11-point final margin. He also had three tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry on the day.

For the season, Walker ranks second on the Wildcat team with 51 tackles to go with two interceptions and seven tackles for loss.

FVSU heads to Columbus, Ga., for the 33rd Annual Fountain City Classic Saturday afternoon, Nov. 4, in a 2 p.m. kick-off against Albany State.
