Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Chris Myers

Culbreath’s Triple Seals FVSU Upset of Savannah State

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats were not letting their home finale get away from them. In a tie game with 33 seconds left, Nikki Culbreath's corner 3-pointer sealed the Fort Valley State women's basketball upset of Savannah State, 58-53, Tuesday evening.

After the Lady Tigers (17-7/13-6 SIAC East) tied the game with two free throws at 1:16, Amiya Allen pulled down the Wildcats offensive rebound on the ensuing possession and gave way to Diamond Jones who found Culbreath in the left corner in front of the bench and drained what would be the game-winning trey. Savannah State missed on its next shot and Jones added a pair of free throws with 5.9 seconds to put the game out of reach.
