Fedd and Yates Received SIAC Men’s Volleyball Weekly Awards

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats faced a pair of tough road foes last weekend, but they came away with two-thirds of the league's weekly awards. Fort Valley State's Isaiah Fedd and Justin Yates received the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Offensive Player and Setter of the Week awards.

FVSU came up short against both Tusculum University and Lincoln Memorial in road contests.

The freshman outside hitter, Fedd totaled 21 kills, eight digs, four blocks and three assists in the seven sets. The Apopka, Fla., native led FVSU with 12 kills, five digs, four blocks and three assists against Tusculum.

Yates of Carlsbad, Calif., grabbed the Setter of the Week title for the fourth time this season. The sophomore produced 46 assists to go with six kills, dix digs and an ace. Against Tusculum, Yates registered 32 assists, six kills without an error in eight attacks, six digs and an ace.

The two teammates and the FVSU team returns to SIAC action tomorrow night, March 24, in a 6 p.m. match at Benedict College.
