INDIANAPOLIS – The Wildcats gathered and witnessed the official announcement late Sunday afternoon! On the NCAA DI/DII Men's Volleyball Selection Show, Fort Valley State received the No. 8 seed and its prize is No. 1 UCLA in nine days.
After becoming the first team to sweep through both Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship matches, FVSU claimed the inaugural ticket to the NCAA DI/DII Men's Volleyball Championship.
The Wildcats breakthrough campaign is highlighted with its 10-0 SIAC record and the doubling of the combined program victories in its first two seasons to a solid 17-8 season record.
FVSU's prize for its title run will be a rematch from the second match of the season on January 4 against No. 1 UCLA. The Bruins pulled out the win, 3-0, in Los Angeles. A full Wildcat team, which was without a trio of players including two All-SIAC honorees, will aim to reverse the first matchup's result.
Full Bracket and Information
There will be more information in the coming days about the matchup and Championship.
