ATLANTA, Ga. – Fort Valley State University Football's Darnell Stephens has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Defensive Player of the Week, earning his first conference honor of the season.

Stephens was dominant in the Wildcats' 7-0 shutout victory over Savannah State University in the Good Trouble Heritage Classic, anchoring a defense that kept the Tigers off the scoreboard. He recorded three interceptions for 11 return yards, along with three pass breakups and two tackles in the secondary.
