Wildcats Secure SIAC Tournament Semifinals Slot with 3-0 Win Over Miles

MOBILE, Ala. – Fort Valley State University Women's Volleyball (24-4) swept Miles College (18-16) 3-0 to advance to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Tournament Semifinals.

FVSU opened the match with a dominant 25-13 first-set victory. The Wildcats set the tone early, scoring the first three points and stretching the lead to 10-4 behind a four-point service run from Morgan Hebert. Fort Valley State continued to roll, building a 15-6 advantage with another four-point run from Sarah Rosario. A five-point surge with Reagan Mann at the service line pushed the margin to 11, and back-to-back kills closed out the set.

The Wildcats carried their momentum into the second set, claiming a 25-10 win. FVSU struck first with two quick points and then erupted for a 12-2 lead following a seven-point run sparked by Mann's serve. The Wildcats pushed ahead 19-5 on a four-point Rosario service run, and a kill followed by an ace sealed the set.

Fort Valley State completed the sweep with a 25-20 win in the final frame. Miles came out fighting, scoring five straight to open the set and later holding a 17-13 lead. But the Wildcats responded with a powerful offensive push, scoring eight consecutive points with Dakotah Holmes at the line to take a 20-17 advantage. Two kills and a Golden Bears error secured the set and the match.

FVSU turned in a superb offensive performance, hitting .330 as a team. Benaye Kyle led the way with 16 kills on an impressive .483 hitting percentage. Imani Stokes and Holmes added seven kills apiece, with Stokes hitting .429. Hebert directed the attack with 24 assists.

The Wildcats were just as dominant defensively, tallying 20 block assists and 48 digs. Stokes anchored the front line with five block assists, while Brewer, Mann, and Holmes contributed three each. Rosario paced the back row with 17 digs and reached her 1,000th career dig during the match. Yancey added nine digs and Kyle chipped in six.

Fort Valley State returns to action on Friday, Nov. 21 in the SIAC Tournament Semifinals, where they will face Savannah State University at 4 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. ET.
