MYRTLE BEACH, S.C- Fort Valley State University track & field finish up appearance at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. The men finished with a 10th place finish with 28 points and the women also finished in 10th with 23 points.
The Wildcat men had a superb outing with four first place finishes.
Cornelius Cooks II cleaned up this weekend with a hand in three of those four finishes. Cooks nabbed a first place finish with 10.62 time in the 100 meter and a third place finish in the 200 meter with a 21.70 time. He alongside
Adetoro Adenuga,
Weylon Williams and
Da'Veon Jenkins secured a first place finish in the 4x100 meter relay. The men capped off their impressive day with
Tyler Pendergrass tying for second in the high jump with 1.75m jump.
Diamond Richardson was the star on the women's side with two second place finishes. A Diamond in the rough, Richardson launched a 12.89m mark in shot put and a 44.66m mark in discus.
Fort Valley track & field is back in action March 21st and 22nd for a meet at Emory University.
