ATLANTA, Ga.- Fort Valley State University track & field earn Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Athlete of the Week honor.
Cornelius Cooks II won Men's Track Athlete of the Week and
Diamond Richardson won Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Cooks had three top three finishes in the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge this past weekend. He nabbed a first place finish in the 100 meter with a 10.62s time. Cooks also ran the 200 meter and placed third with a 21.70s time. He capped off his outstanding performance with a 4x100 meter relay win with teammates Weylong Williams,
Da'Veon Jenkins and
Adetoro Adenuga. The team finished 1st with a 41.24s time.
Richardson had two second place finishes in the Collegiate Classic over the weekend. She placed second with a 12.89m throw in shot put. Richardson also launched a 44.66m discus mark for second place.
