Box Score 2 FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Fort Valley State University delivered a commanding performance on their home court this weekend, sweeping Kentucky State University in consecutive matches on March 20 and 21. The Wildcats showcased efficiency, depth, and defensive dominance in both contests, securing two emphatic 3-0 victories and improving to 4-0 in SIAC play.
Match 1: FVSU 3, Kentucky State 0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-10)
The Wildcats opened the series in dominant fashion, overwhelming Kentucky State with a high-powered offensive attack and disciplined play. FVSU was nearly unstoppable in the first set, hitting an impressive .619 with 14 kills and just one error.
Jamari Griffin led the offensive explosion with 9 kills on a remarkable .818 hitting percentage, while Muhammad Mbaye followed with 8 kills and an outstanding .889 clip. Isaiah Fedd added 7 kills to round out a balanced attack.
The Wildcats' offense was orchestrated seamlessly by Logan Rogers, who dished out 15 assists, with Logan Eaton contributing 10. At the net, FVSU established a strong defensive presence, totaling 9 blocks. Taviian Martin anchored the effort, factoring into 6 blocks (1 solo, 5 assists) to stifle Kentucky State's attack.
Match 2: FVSU 3, Kentucky State 0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-17)
Fort Valley State carried its momentum into Saturday's matchup, completing the series sweep with another decisive straight-set victory. The Wildcats controlled the tempo from start to finish, using strong serving and consistent offensive execution.
Isaiah Fedd delivered a standout all-around performance, tallying 8 kills on a blistering .889 hitting percentage while adding 5 digs. Keaton Long chipped in 7 kills and an ace to support the attack.
From the service line, FVSU applied constant pressure, recording 9 aces compared to Kentucky State's 4. Taviian Martin and Muhammad Mbaye led the way with two aces apiece.
The Wildcats also displayed versatility in their offensive system, with Logan Rogers (11 assists), Haris Syed (10 assists), and Jeremyah Gaston (5 assists) sharing setting duties effectively.
Defensively, FVSU remained dominant at the net, finishing with 7.5 total blocks. Once again, Taviian Martin led the charge with 5 block assists, helping seal another convincing victory.
