FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — Fort Valley State delivered a strong all-around performance on the road Friday evening, defeating Emmanuel (GA) 3–1 (25–19, 25–16, 24–26, 25–20) at the Shaw Athletic Center.
The Wildcats controlled the match offensively, recording 55 kills with a .271 hitting percentage, while also tallying 50 assists and 47 digs in the victory.
Fort Valley State jumped out to an early advantage, taking the first two sets behind efficient attacking and solid play at the net. Emmanuel responded by narrowly claiming the third set, but the Wildcats regrouped in the fourth, closing the match with a decisive 25–20 set win.
Isaiah Fedd led the Wildcats with 20 kills and a .438 hitting percentage, while
Muhammad Mbaye and
Keaton Long each added nine kills.
Khairi Mitchell contributed eight kills while hitting an impressive .700.
Setter
Logan Rogers guided the offense with 42 assists and led the defense with 14 digs.
With the win, the Wildcats continues to build momentum as they move forward in the season.
