Wildcats Show Power and Poise in Rival Series

FORT VALLEY, GA— FVSU softball put together a competitive showing across its conference series against Albany State, highlighting clutch hitting, strong individual performances, and resilience throughout.

At the plate, Amira Johnson led the Wildcats with one of the most impactful swings of the series, blasting a two-run home run and finishing with multiple RBIs, providing a major spark in key scoring innings. Jasmine Stewart continued her consistency in the middle of the lineup, turning in multiple-hit performances and driving in runs to keep the offense moving.

Setting the tone at the top, Marley Quammie was a steady presence, recording multiple hits across the series while creating scoring opportunities with her speed and ability to get on base. Darianna Sosa and Zoe Molina also contributed offensively, each tallying key hits and RBIs, while Tayler Graham added extra-base power to further boost the Wildcats' attack.

Inside the circle, Gabrielle Stonecypher delivered a strong outing, pitching extended innings and recording multiple strikeouts while limiting scoring opportunities in crucial moments. She was complemented by Danielle Bacon, who also saw time in the circle and helped keep the Wildcats competitive throughout the series.

As a team, Fort Valley produced consistent hit totals in each game (7–8 hits per contest) and showed the ability to manufacture runs in late innings, including a three-run sixth inning surge in the series finale.

The Wildcats demonstrated balance across the lineup, timely power, and determined play—which are key factors as the face Trinity College of Jacksonville at home in a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. EST.
