FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Fort Valley State University Women's Volleyball battled through four competitive sets Tuesday evening, falling 3-1 with set scores of 22-25, 25-15, 23-25 and 23-25. After dropping the opening set, the Wildcats responded with a commanding second frame, using strong serving and defensive pressure to secure a 25-15 victory. FVSU continued to challenge throughout the final two sets, coming within two points in each frame.
Caytlyn Sanford led the attack with 11 kills while hitting .500, while
Dakotah Holmes contributed seven kills, four service aces and 10 digs.
Mashayla Collins added eight kills,
Reagan Mann directed the offense with 25 assists and 12 digs, and
Naoma Yancey finished with 11 digs and three aces. Despite the result, Fort Valley State produced a higher hitting percentage (.154) than its opponent (.096) and forced 31 attack errors, while the Wildcats' 25-15 second-set victory and two narrow 25-23 finishes highlighted a competitive performance as FVSU continues its 2026 campaign.
