Michael Ervin enters his third season on the staff at Fort Valley State University and serves as the Director of Football Operations, Assistant Head Coach and Running Backs Coach.
Ervin fulfills a vital role by managing those critical duties and responsibilities of the operational and administrative affairs that are inherently involved in the operation for the Wildcat Football Program and other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach Kevin Porter. Maintain continual knowledge of all applicable NCAA, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Fort Valley State University and department rules and regulations.
Ervin is the internal liaison to the university campus, working in conjunction with the admissions, financial aid, compliance, and the sports information directors’ office and other campus entities.
Ervin is a graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest (KS) High School. He played his college football/baseball at Coffeyville Community College (KS) and completed his career at Winona State University (MN). Michael’s previous coaching stops include Emporia State University (KS) wide receivers coach, University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, defensive backs coach and Avila University, Director of Football Operations & Recruiting Coordinator, Point University, Director of Football Operations & Recruiting Coordinator, Lanett High School (AL), Running Backs Coach & Special Teams Coordinator.
Ervin received his Bachelor Science degree in Education from Emporia State University (KS), and Masters Science degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.
He and his wife, Alissa, have 3 children – daughter Michaila (Caila) (15), and son Mikkiel (Kiki) (11). Mikkari (Kari) (3).
