O.C. Williams II

O.C. Williams joins the Fort Valley State football coaching staff for the 2022 season. Williams will serve as the Wildcats Defensive Run Game Coordinator/Defensive Line Coach.

Williams comes to The Valley after he served as the Cornerback/Special Teams Coach for Alabama A&M for the 2021 campaign.

In his last coaching stint in Georgia, Williams was part of the Reinhardt University staff for four years (2017-20) where he helped the program to four Mid South Conference titles and a NAIA National Championship runner-up finish along with four All-Americans. He started as the Defensive Line Coach where his unit produced four All-Mid-South honorees, the Conference Defensive MVP and the defensive group which led the NAIA in scoring defense, rush defense and total defense. 

In his second two seasons with the Eagles, he was the Run Game Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator. The Reinhardt defense finished ranked in the top 10 of the nation both seasons and tutored seven All-Conference and two All-Americans in those seasons.

Over his last two Reinhardt campaigns, Williams guided the team defense as the Defensive Coordinator. His units another three All-Conference defensive linemen, a Conference Player of the Year and an All-American. The defense led the Mid South in interceptions, and it was third in total defense, while the Eagles rated in the top 15 in the NAIA for scoring defense (16.3 ppg), pass defense (100.9 yds/game) and sacks (24).

Williams spent the fall of 2016 as the Defensive Coordinator/Athletic Event Administrator for Duluth High School.

In two seasons (2014-15) with the University of West Florida, Williams was the Defensive Pass Game Coordinator/Defensive/Special Teams coach. During the team, he helped sign three All-Gulf South Conference players, including Defensive Freshman of the Year and the GSC’s leading wide receiver.

For his longest coaching tenure, Williams served as part of the University of North Carolina-Pembroke staff for eight years from 2007-14. With the Braves, he was the Recruiting Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator and assisted the team with two NCAA playoff appearances and a pair of All-American players.

The veteran coach also has had coaching times at McPherson College, East Mississippi CC, the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Eskimos and Richwood (La.) High School.

Williams graduated from Alcorn State University where he was a defensive back and long snapper for two seasons. He also played defensive back for a season at Holmes Community College (Miss.).
