Brandon Britt serves as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Fort Valley State University, bringing a reputation as one of the rising leaders in collegiate basketball. With extensive coaching experience spanning the NCAA Division II, NAIA, and high school ranks, Britt has built a career defined by program transformation, player development, recruiting excellence, and competitive success. Known for his passion, leadership, and commitment to student-athlete growth, he continues to establish a culture centered on accountability, discipline, and championship-level expectations.
During the 2025-26 season, Coach Britt continued building momentum for the Wildcats while guiding Fort Valley State to a 12-13 overall record in the highly competitive Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). Under his leadership, the Wildcats emerged as one of the league's most dynamic teams, finishing second in the conference in scoring offense (74 points per game), leading the SIAC in three-point field goal defense, and ranking third in rebounds per game. His emphasis on player development was evident as Aidan Lambert earned All-SIAC honors and Danny Delgado captured SIAC Freshman of the Year recognition, highlighting Britt's ability to maximize talent and prepare student-athletes for success.
Before arriving in Fort Valley, Britt spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Edward Waters University, where he played a pivotal role in the program's emergence at the NCAA Division II level. During the 2024-25 campaign, he helped lead the Tigers to their first winning season as a Division II institution—a significant milestone in program history. His responsibilities included recruiting, scouting, game preparation, player development, and overall program operations. Britt also served as Director of Elite Camps, overseeing exposure events that attracted top talent from across the region and strengthened the program's recruiting pipeline.
Britt's reputation as a program builder was cemented during his tenure as Head Coach at Western High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Taking over a team that had finished 4-22 prior to his arrival, he engineered one of the most remarkable turnarounds in the state. The program improved to 10 wins in his first season and 17 victories in his second, earning its first Sixth Region Tournament appearance in a decade. By his third season, Western advanced to its first regional championship game in more than 40 years, signaling the arrival of a new powerhouse.
The 2021-22 season marked the pinnacle of Western's rise under Britt, as the team posted a school-record 23-5 mark. Even after the departure of an ESPN five-star prospect to nationally renowned Oak Hill Academy, Britt's team continued to thrive, finishing 21-8 against one of Kentucky's toughest schedules and posting a 13-2 record within one of the state's most competitive regions. Western climbed as high as No. 2 in the Kentucky state rankings and established itself as a legitimate championship contender. His impact on player development was equally impressive, with multiple athletes earning NCAA Division I scholarship offers and several others advancing to Division II and NAIA programs.
At the collegiate level, Britt previously served under Hall of Fame coach Wiley Brown at Indiana University Southeast. During his two seasons with the Grenadiers, the program compiled a 31-26 overall record and earned a berth in the NAIA National Tournament Round of 32 in Branson, Missouri. The 2016-17 squad finished 24-7 and rose as high as No. 12 in the national rankings. Britt played an instrumental role in developing four NAIA All-Americans, seven All-Conference selections, and two future professional basketball players.
More than wins and championships, Coach Britt is driven by a passion for mentoring young men and preparing them for life beyond basketball. His coaching philosophy emphasizes relationship building, player development, competitive excellence, and personal growth. He believes the lessons learned through athletics—leadership, resilience, teamwork, and discipline—create opportunities that extend far beyond the court.
As he continues to lead the Wildcats, Coach Britt remains focused on building a championship-caliber program that competes at the highest level while producing graduates, leaders, and role models. His proven ability to develop talent, elevate programs, and inspire excellence continues to make a lasting impact on Fort Valley State University and every student-athlete he serves.
