The Wildcats of Fort Valley State University advanced to the second round of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Basketball Tournament with a 86-80 win over the Golden Bears of Miles College in first round play.

The eighth ranked Wildcats were led in scoring by forward Corey Hunter who finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Kyle Cooper tallied 14 points and Cecil Bent totaled 13 points and five rebounds.  Joshuah Davis finished with 14 points and Brandon Davey added 10 points in the Wildcats win.

The Wildcats will continue tournament play on Wednesday, February 29th at 8 p.m. when they meet the number one seed Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University in the Forbes Arena on the Morehouse College campus.
