PRE-GAME NOTES
THE MATCHUP: The Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (3-1) will face their biggest conference challenge thus far when they travel to Tuskegee, AL on Saturday for a showdown with the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University (2-1).

THE LOGISTICS: Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. (CST) in historic Abbott Memorial Stadium.

The Wildcats notched their second conference win of the season with a 33-10 victory over the Tigers of Benedict College. Senior wide receiver Christopher Slaughter had five catches for 100 yards with two touchdowns. Placekicker and punter Justin Rosenbaum was named SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.  He connected on field goals of 47 and 38 yards and averaged 42.7 yards per punt.  Center David Garbo was named SIAC Offensive Lineman of the Week.

Derrick Washington scored three rushing touchdowns to lead the Golden Tigers to 47-17 win over the Dragons of Lane College.

 WHAT'S AT STAKE:  
 ·        A win by the Wildcats would solidify their first place lead in the Eastern Division of the
         SIAC.
   
 ·        A Golden Tiger win could create some separation among the field of three teams currently          
         tied for first place in the Western Division of the SIAC.

THE SERIES HISTORY:  This is the 48th meeting between the Wildcats and Golden Tigers.
The teams played last season with Tuskegee winning a close contest, 18-15. The last Wildcat win against the Golden Tigers was in 2010 (26-0).  The first meeting between FVSU and TU was in 1952.

Series Record (Tuskegee Leads): 20-25-2

THE COACHING MATCH-UP:    Fort Valley State University Head Coach Donald Pittman is in his fourth season at FVSU. The Wildcats are 19-15 under Pittman. Delta State University
Willie Slater is in his seventh season as the Tuskegee University Head Coach. He has a 57-14 record at Tuskegee.

The Golden Tigers travel to Columbus, GA to tangle with the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College on Saturday, October 6th at 3 p.m. in the 77th Annual Morehouse-Tuskegee Classic.
