FOUR WILDCATS IN DOUBLE DIGITS IN 73-65 WIN OVER MILES

Box Score FORT VALLEY, GA (January 13, 2014) – Fort Valley State University Wildcats (9-5; 5-0) had four players in double digits figures in the 73-65 win over the Golden Bears of Miles College (0-13; 0-6) Monday night, January 13 at the HPE Complex. Senior forward Nigel Domineck (Atlanta, GA) led the Wildcats with his first game- high double-double in scoring and rebounding with 19 points and 15 rebounds, two assist and three steals.

The Wildcats went to half leading 34-33, while FVSU scored on 39.5 percent of their shots and 57.1 percent in free throws and Miles hitting 34.5 percent of its shots from the floor and 12-for-12 foul shots for 100 percent.

For the game, the Wildcats scored on 29-of-71 shots for 40.8 percent from the field, 5-of-16 three pointers for 31.3 percent and 10-of-17 free throws for 58.8 percent. The Golden Bears hit 22-of-55 shots from the floor for 40 percent, while making 17-of-28 free throws for 60.7 percent.

Senior forward Brandon Davey (Warner Robins, GA) scored his third double-double this season with 11 points, 10 boards, 3 assist, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Senior guard's Joshuah Davis (Augusta, GA) added 18 points, 4 assist and 2 steals and Anthony Bell (Detroit, MI) dished out a game-high 8 assist, 10 points and 4 steals.

Terrance Noel led the Golden Bears with a team-high double-double 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wildcats out rebounded Miles 45-43, while outscoring them 44-22 in the paint, 21-11 off turnovers, 8-8 on second chance shots, 18-8 on fast break points, but Miles drained 20 points to FVSU's 15 from the bench. FVSU gained their largest lead of 13 in the second half with .54 left and Miles up by 4 in the first half with 14:22 left.

FVSU will travel to Memphis, TN on Thursday, January 16 to play the Magicians of LeMoyne-Owen College (4-7; 2-2) at 7:30 pm.
