Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MT. VERNON, GA (February 3, 2014) – Fort Valley State University Wildcats season started slow as they dropped to 0-5 on the season with a double-hitter loss to Brewton-Parker College (2-0) on Tuesday, February 3 by a score of 0-8 and 0-11.

The Wildcats managed one hit in game one and three in game two, but was not able to put any runs cross the plate. Asia Buckner had the only hit in game one and Buckner, Alicia Jones and Crystal Richmond with the other three in game two.

Alexis Ricks picked up her fifth loss, while starting game one Ricks threw 4 innings, 8 hits, 8 runs, 0 earned and 4 walks and game two another 4 inning, 3 hits given up, 11 runs, 3 earned, 5 walks and 1 strikeout.

Crystal Ward was the winning pitcher in game one for Brewton-Parker and Ashley Williams in game two.
