Box Score 2 JASPER, AL (March 13, 2014) – Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (0-27; 0-6) opened the SIAC Softball Conference Crossover in Jasper with losses to Stillman College (6-16; 3-0) 18-4 and Lane College (3-5; 1-1) 9-0 on Thursday.
Game one,
Asia Buckner led the Lady Wildcats with three hit and scored a run,
Crystal Richmond had one hit, drove in two RBI's and
Kenya Shakoor and
Alexis Ricks had one hit each with Shakoor scoring a run.
Hannah Burr led Stillman with three hits, four RBI's and scored four times, while Jessica Mathews scored four times on two hits and three RBI's.
Alexis Ricks (0-25) picked up the loss, while going five innings, giving up nine hits, one earned run and five strikeouts.
Ashley Savage got the win for Stillman in five innings with six hits given up and one earned run and four strikeouts.
Game two,
DeAunna Jackson and
Tr'Kia Grant had one hit each for FVSU.
Alexis Ricks (0-26) went 5.2 innings for the loss, while allowing nine hits, seven earned runs and nine strikeouts.
Brittany McElvain picked up the win for Lane, while going six innings and allowing two hits and four strikeouts.
FVSU will play Kentucky State University at 12 p.m. and Miles College at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 14 at Jasper Park in Jasper.
