LADY WILDCATS DROP DOUBLEHEADER TO ALBANY STATE

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FORT VALLEY, GA (March 19, 2014) – The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats dropped a doubleheader to the Lady Rams of Albany State University 1-3 and 1-9 on Wednesday at the FVSU Softball Field.

Ashley Polke led FVSU in game one with two hits and scored a run, while Alexis Ricks and Hadiyah Walker had one hit each. Crystal Richmond posted the only RBI for the Lady Wildcats.

Domonique Bryant scored two runs, one hit and a RBI to lead Albany State.
Polk scored FVSU's only run in the bottom half of the first inning off a Richmond pop out.

Albany State scored one run in the top half of the first inning and two more in the third for the 3-1 win.

In game two, the Lady Wildcats managed only three hits and the lone run in the bottom half of the fifth inning.

Albany State won the game in five short innings, by scoring five runs in the top half of the first inning, two more in the second and one in the third and fifth innings.

Alexis Ricks (3-29) received both losses, by going seven innings in game one, giving up six hit and two earned runs. Ricks allowed ten hits in five innings of action and four earned runs in game two.

Alexa Lopez threw seven innings in game one for the win, while giving up four hit and one earned run. Chelsea Hicks won game two in five innings with three hits allowed and one earned run.

The Lady Wildcats next game is Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23 as they host Paine College and Clark Atlanta University in doubleheaders with the games starting at 1 and 3 p.m.
