Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ORANGEBURG, SC (April 5, 2014) – Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (5-36; 5-15) softball team drop two games to the Panthers of Claflin University (34-5; 16-2) on Saturday by a score of 6-1 and 10-0 in Orangeburg.
 
Asia Buckner led FVSU in game one with one hit, one run scored and one RBI, while teammates Ashley Polke, Alexis Ricks and Tr'Kia Grant posted one hit apiece.
 
Markea Sheppard led Claflin with one hit, scored a run and two RBI's.
 
Buckner put the Lady Wildcats on the scoreboard first in the top half of the first inn with a solo homer over the right field fence.
 
In the bottom half bottom half; Chelsea Hall walked and later scored on a throwing error on the catcher.
 
The Lady Panthers took the lead in the bottom half of the second on doubles by Alice Boone and Briana Pinera.
 
Claflin later closed the game out with four run in the 5th.
 
Game two, Buckner, Ricks, Hadiyah Walker and Abrahana James had one hit each for the Lady Wildcats.
 
Claflin scored one run in the first and another nine runs in the fourth.
 
FVSU well face the Lady Tigers of Benedict College on Sunday, April 6 at 1 and 3 in Columbia, SC.
