FORT VALLEY, GA (January 3, 2015) – Fort Valley State had four players to post double digits in the 81-78 loss to the Dragons of Lane College on Saturday afternoon at the HPE Complex on FVSU's campus.
FVSU overall record is 0-8 and 0-1 in conference play, while Lane moves to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in the SIAC.
Junior guard
Kenneth Harper (Detroit, MI) led the way for the Wildcats with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while making 3-of-5 field goals, 1-of-2 three pointers and hit 11-of 16 free throws. Senior point guard
Derrick Spear (Atlanta, GA) scored 18 points while hitting 6-of-7 baskets and draining 6-of-7 foul shots. Junior center
Ralph Wilson (Americus, GA) and senior guard
De'Mario Black (Warner Robins, GA) added 12 and 10 points. Wilson had 6 rebounds and scored on two 3-pointers.
Terrance Bridgeman scored 37 points to lead Lane to victory, while Gederrick Williams put up 8 rebounds.
For the game, FVSU scored on 40.4 percent of their shots (19-of-47) and 64.8 percent at the free throw line (35-of-54).
Lane made 44-4 percent of its shots (28-of-63) and made 21-of-34 free throws (61.8 percent).
FVSU will host Kentucky State University on Monday, Jan21-of-34 free throws (61.8 percent).
