AUGUSTA, GA (March 11, 2016) – Fort Valley State softball team faced off against Paine College in Augusta of Friday as two winless teams met and Paine came out on top 10-3 in the first game of a three games.
FVSU fell to 0-12 overall and 0-4 in the SIAC and Paine improved to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Hadiyah Walker led the Lady Wildcats with two hits and two runs, while
Ashley Polke added two hits,
Alicia Jones,
Keeley Winston and
Alexis Spires-Neff each had one hit. Winston and Spires-Neff drove in one run apiece.
Ashandria Henry led Paine with two hit, scored three times and had two RBI's, while Lasharon Salahuddin drove in two RBI's on two hits.
FVSU's pitcher
Alexis Spires-Neff (0-7) picked up the loss while giving up nine hits and seven earned runs. Paine's De'Jour Davis moves up to 1-7.
FVSU will play Paine again on Saturday, March 12 in a doubleheader at 2 pm and 4 pm.
