JASPER, AL – The Fort Valley State University women's softball team played in the SIAC Softball Crossover Tournament in Jasper Thursday-Saturday, March 17-19 but came up short on wins as they went 0-5 with losses to Spring Hill College (13-0), Lane College (12-1), Miles College (14-1), Kentucky State University (21-3) and LeMoyne-Owen College (16-13) at Memorial Park in Jasper.
The Lady Wildcats overall record dropped to 3-13 and 3-8 in SIAC action.
Over a five game span the Lady Wildcats managed 30 hits and allowed 52 hits. FVSU scored 18 runs during this period and made 31 errors in a losing effort.
Freshman catcher
Shakerra Geter had FVSU's only hit in game one while Spring Hill produced nine hits.
SHC started the game with an 11 run advantage in the inning and added two more runs in the fourth to complete their scoring. FVSU ended the game with seven errors to SHC's one.

Aliyah Speight had one hit apiece and
Marlayzha Crutchfield scored FVSU's only run. LC collected seven hits. FVSU had five errors and LC made four.
LC scored nine runs in the top of the first inning and the Lady Wildcats pushed their run across in the bottom half. The Lady Dragons added two more in the second and another run in the fourth inning.
In the Miles game, the Lady Wildcats punched one run across the plate in the top half of the first inning and put up four hits. Freshmen leftfielder

Shekiya Tarpkins had one hit each. Geter drove in FVSU's lone run. MC scored eight runs in the first and six in the second to complete MC's scoring. The Lady Bears had nine hits and two errors to FVSU's seven errors.
Game four, the Lady Wildcats managed to put three runs on the scoreboard while adding seven hits. Freshmen shortstop

Marlayzha Crutchfield had one hit. FVSU scored a run in the first, third and fifth innings. KSU added seven runs in the first, two in the second, eight more in the third and a final four in the fourth. FVSU had eight errors and KSU had one.
The Lady Wildcats went up two nothing on LOC in the first inning of the final game, but LOC got two runs of their own to tie the game in the bottom half. FVSU scored two in the second, six in the fourth, and two in the fifth and a final run in the six. LOC added seven more runs in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the six. LOC committed seven errors and FVSU made four.

The Lady Wildcats return home for a doubleheader with Edward Waters College on Wednesday, March 22 at Wildcat Field. The games are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
