FORT VALLEY, GA – Freshman shortstop Keteria Loney hit a two run homerun in the Fort Valley State Lady Wildcats softball team loss to Edward Waters College 10-5 and 12-6 at Wildcat Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
 
Edward Waters scored one run in the top half of the first inning to take the lead. (1-0)
 
Edward Waters scored their second run in the fourth (unearned). Fort Valley State added a run in the bottom half on singles by Brianna Jackson and Shakerra Geter. Jackson scored on an error by the left fielder. (2-1)
 
Edward Waters plated four more runs in the fifth on five hits and an error. (6-1)
 
In the sixth, Aliyah Speight tripled, Marlayzha Crutchfield singled and Jackson reached first base on an error to score Speight and Crutchfield. Geter doubled to score Jackson and Kaylen Johnson singled to bring Geter home. The Lady Wildcats scored four runs on four hits and one error. (6-5)
 
The Lady Tigers completed the scoring in the top half of the seventh with four runs on two hits and an error. (10-5)
 
Geter and Kaylen Johnson led the Lady Wildcats with two hits apiece.
 
Tenia Johnson (3-10) threw a complete game allowing 10 runs (8 earned), 11 hits and one strikeout.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2):
 
Edward Waters led off the first inning with two unearned runs. Fort Valley State responded in the bottom half with a single by Aliyah Speight to lead off the inning and Brianna Jackson doubled to score Speight. Shakerra Geter tripled to score Jackson. Fort Valley State scored two runs off three hits and zero errors. (2-2)
 
The Lady Tigers added two more unearned runs in the second inning. (4-2)
 
Edward Waters punched another unearned run across in the third. Speight singled in the bottom half for the Lady Wildcats, Marlayzha Crutchfield tripled to drive-in Speight. Keteria Loney hit a two run homer over the left field fence scoring Crutchfield. The Lady Wildcats scored three runs on three hits. (5-5)
 
The Lady Tigers put two more runs on the board in the top of the fourth. Kaylen Johnson tripled in the bottom half for the Lady Wildcats and Shekiya Tarpkins single scored Johnson in from third. Fort Valley State had one run off two hits and zero errors. (7-6)

Edward Waters completed the scoring with one run in the six inning and four runs in the seventh. (12-6)
 
Speight, Jackson led the Lady Wildcats with two hits and Loney had three RBI's.
 
Brianna Jackson (0-5) pitched the complete game surrendering nine hits while allowing 12 runs (four earned) with four strikeouts.
