Box Score 2 LADY WILDCATS SOFTBALL TEAM DROPPED SEASON OPENER
AMERICUS, GA – The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats opened the season at Georgia Southwestern but was not able to get the bats rolling as the Canes won 8-0 and 9-1 at Lady Canes Field.
Game one, freshman pitcher
Courtney Walker from Warner Robins went four inns for the loss while giving up seven runs (three earned), on four hits, three walks, and four strikeouts.
GSW scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the third inning, four runs in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth inning. FVSU committed four errors to GSW's two.
Game two, FVSU managed to plate one run to GSW's nine.
Ashley Simmons-Blair singled, Shaerra Geter plated one run on two hits,
Keteria Loney picked up one hit and
Audrianna Noel added a hit. FVSU made six errors.
Courtney Walker went 5.1 inns for the loss while giving up six hits, seven runs (4 earned) and three walks.
FVSU's next game is at home against Concordia-Selma College in a doubleheader on February 21. Game time is set for 2 and 4 p.m.
