Box Score ATLANTA, GA – In his first game back after missing six games with an injury
Tyler Edwards' game-high 25-points led all scorers in Fort Valley State's (FVSU) (13-13; 9-9) 70-63 loss Saturday evening to #21 Clark Atlanta University (CAU) (21-3; 15-2) at L.S. Epps Gymnasium.
Edwards made 8-of-14 shots from the field, one three-pointer, a perfect 8-for-8 shot from the free throw line, four rebounds, one steal and blocked a shot while playing 36 minutes.
Walter Foster led the Wildcats with a game-high nine rebounds, 10- points and went 4-of-6 at the fouls line.
Jaylon McMillan added 10-points, five boards, 3-of-4 in free throws and dished two assists.
FVSU went to intermission down 25-32 but came out in the second half put up 38-points. FVSU outrebounded CAU 43-37 and forced 14 CAU turnovers.
The Wildcats shot 32.3% (21-65) from the field, 10.7% (3-28) from behind the three-point line and made 78.3% (18-23) of their free throws.
Jalen Mitchell led the Panthers with 17-points and eight rebounds.
CAU made 24-55 (43.6%) shots from the floor, 8-23 (34.8%) 3-pointers and 14-17 (82.4%) foul shots.
FVSU will end the regular season at Morehouse on Monday, February 19 at 7 p.m.
